Here you’ll find a small shop kids holiday gift guide that includes simple, timeless, hand crafted gifts that will last for years to come.
As the holidays approach, I’m getting more and more excited because I really enjoy giving gifts, especially to my kids. I enjoy finding gifts for my children that are special and that play (pun intended) to their interests. This year I decided it was important to support small shops and small businesses. I’ve heard talk of having to buy gifts even earlier this year to ensure they will make it by Christmas. But with small shops that are located within the US or Canada, that shouldn’t be an issue!
With all that said, I’ve come up with curated gift guides for kids that include ideas that are simple, durable and timeless. Most of these gift ideas will encourage your child to use their imagination and learn through play. The great thing about most of these ideas is that they can really make great gifts for kids of any age!
Small Shop Holiday Gift Ideas for Babies (0-1)
Babies can be hard to buy for when it comes to their first Christmas. For children under a year, I find it easiest to buy gifts that are useful, practical and can withstand the test of time. That’s why I’ve chosen durable handmade gifts that will last throughout your baby’s first year and beyond. Some of these gifts can be passed to younger siblings or kept as a keepsake!
- Baby’s First Christmas Ornament: Having a special ornament is such a sweet way to celebrate and remember your child’s first Christmas.

Toddlers (1-3)
Toddlers are constantly learning through observation and play. I’ve found in my own children that the most played with toys they have are simple. These beautifully crafted toys are simple, durable and allow your child to use their imaginations!

Little Kids (4-6)
Little kids continue to learn through play and by doing. Incorporating games into their routine are not only fun for them and the whole family, but helps them learn too! Including children in on the cooking and baking is another great way for them to learn by doing. I’ve included a few kitchen items as well!
