FAQs
Will these oils clog my pores?
The oils in this recipe are generally considered non-comedogenic, which means they shouldn’t clog your pores. That being said, people react differently to different ingredients in skincare products, so it’s important to note that when trying new things on the skin. Personally, I have fairly sensitive and acne-prone skin and have never had issues using these oils on my skin. In fact, they’ve significantly improved the appearance of my skin.
Do I have to use only organic oils on my skin?
You 100% do not have to use only organic oils on your skin. However, I choose to when I can because they are usually easy to source, similar in price to their counterparts and the plants are grown without the use of many common pesticides. Ultimately it’s always your choice when it comes to the products you use in your home, so make the best decision for you!
How do I store this anti-aging DIY facial oil?
I like to store my facial oil in a cool dark place, or honestly on my bathroom shelf that’s in a separate area from the shower. This oil will last 1-2 years if stored properly in a glass airtight container.
How often should I use this DIY facial oil?
I don’t recommend using this oil under makeup because well, it’s really oily. Instead, I prefer to use this DIY facial oil nightly on my face and neck. I find that it really has a chance to soak in overnight and makes a big difference. But a fair warning, your pillowcase will probably get oil stains on it. It’s worth it to me, but definitely be aware.
Who should use a facial oil?
Anyone can benefit from using a face oil, especially as you age. This is great for dry skin, sensitive skin, aging skin, acne prone skin, et cetera. In a nutshell, it’s great for most!

Ingredients
**These carrier oils and essential oils are all non-comedogenic, meaning they most likely will not clog your pores.**
Castor Oil: Castor oil is a carrier oil that is made from pressing the seeds of the castor plant. Castor oil is made primarily of an unsaturated omega-9 fatty acid called ricinoleic acid. Ricinoleic acid helps to deeply moisturize and hydrate the skin. It’s anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antimicrobial, making it great for helping to heal wounds and acne.
Jojoba Oil: Jojoba oil is made from the nut of the jojoba plant. It’s deeply moisturizing because it is known as a humectant, which means it helps to attract water. It’s also antibacterial and antifungal, meaning it can help to heal the skin. Jojoba oil also full of vitamin E, which is an antioxidant, can help to smooth fine lines and wrinkles and reduce the appearance of scars.
Rose Hip Oil: Rose hip oil is made from a particular rose bush that grows in Chile. It’s full of vitamins like vitamin A and vitamin E, which help reduce the signs of aging, like fine lines and pigmentation. It also helps to moisturize the skin and help with acne.
Frankincense Essential Oil: Frankincense oil is anti-inflammatory and can help promote collagen production. It can also help soothe inflammation and redness.
Lavender Essential Oil: Lavender oil helps reduce inflammation on the skin, soothe irritation and acne.
