Equipment

  • Your favorite mug (preferably 12 oz or bigger)
  • A stand mixer, electric mixer or whisk (only if you're making your own whipped cream)
  • Piping bag (optional)
  • Plastic baggie
  • Spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coffee
  • 1 tbsp heavy whipping cream
  • 1-2 tsp chocolate sauce
  • 5-7 drops peppermint extract
  • ½ cup whipped cream optional
  • 1-2 tbs crushed peppermint candy optional
  • 1 tbs chocolate sauce

Instructions

  • Start off with brewing a cup of your favorite coffee in your favorite mug, preferably one that is on the larger side so you can fit all that yummy whipped cream and toppings in there!
  • Next add 5-7 drops of peppermint extract to the coffee. I find that I like about 7 drops, but you could add less or more depending on your preference. Always start with less and add more. Stir that thoroughly.
  • Add a spoonful of chocolate sauce, then a splash of heavy whipping cream. Add as much or little to make it exactly how you like your coffee. You could omit the splash of cream too. Stir the drink continuously for about 30 seconds until the chocolate sauce and heavy whipping cream is incorporated.
  • Top with homemade whipped cream, a drizzle of chocolate sauce and some crushed peppermint candies. If you want to be a little extra fancy, you could pipe your whipped cream on with a piping bag and tip.

Notes

  • This drink is great served hot or cold.
  • Try blending coffee, chocolate sauce, peppermint extract and heavy whipping cream with some ice. Add to a glass and top with whipped cream, chocolate sauce and crushed candies!
  • You can make the base of this coffee ahead of time and place in the refrigerator. Shake well before drinking and top with your favorite toppings.
  • If you don't have peppermint candies, you could instead add a few drops of peppermint extract to your whipped cream.
