Instructions
Mint Whipped Cream
Make your own whipped cream by placing heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, mint extract and green food coloring (optional) in the bowl of a stand mixer. With the whisk attachment, whisk for 1-2 minutes or until stiff peaks form. Place the mint whipped cream in the refrigerator until you're ready to use it.
Mint Chocolate Chip Latte
Brew a cup of your favorite coffee and pour it into a large 16 oz cup like a mason jar.
In a sauce pan, place milk, heavy whipping cream, chocolate chips and mint extract. Turn the heat to low-medium and whisk until the chocolate is completely melted and everything is well combined. Allow the mixture to heat up until it is steaming but not simmering or boiling.
Blend the chocolate mixture in a blender, use a milk frother to froth or simply place in a jar with a lid and shake it until frothy.
Pour the chocolate mixture over top of your cup of coffee.
Top the mint chocolate chip latte with homemade mint whipped cream and shredded chocolate if desired.
Notes
Dairy-free/Vegan option: Replace the milk and heavy whipping cream with non-dairy milk like oat milk, cashew milk or almond milk (something with a thicker consistency). Replace the milk chocolate chips with dairy free chocolate chips. You can top with coconut cream instead.
Use Cool Whip instead of homemade whipped cream for the topping.
If you're making this for kids, try making this with hot chocolate as the base instead!
If you want to make this a boozy drink, add in something like Chocolate Liqueur or Irish Cream!
