½cupsoftened butter
¾cupgranulated sugar
1egg
½tspvanilla
1tbspmilk or cream
1¼cupall purpose flour
¼tspsalt
¼tspbaking powder
¼tspall spice or pumpkin pie spice
½tspcinnamon
zest of half an orange

2cupspowdered sugar
1pinchsalt
¼tspvanilla extractoptional
2½tbspjuice of an orangethe one you zested
zest of half an orange
dash of cinnamon
Instructions
Orange Spiced Sugar Cookies
With your stand mixer or electric mixer, cream together softened butter and sugar until fluffy (30 seconds to 1 minute). Then, add in egg, vanilla and cream and beat thoroughly.
Add flour, salt, baking powder, all spice or pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon and the zest of half an orange and mix.
Using a tablespoon measure, scoop and drop dough onto prepared cookie sheet. I like to roll the dough into little balls, but you don't have to do that!
Bake at 375° for 7-8 minutes or until just golden brown.

Whisk together in a small mixing bowl powdered sugar, salt, vanilla extract, orange juice, orange zest and cinnamon

Refrigerate dough for 1 hour before bakingPlace in the refrigerator for 1 hour before serving so the icing hardens a bit.
